What Work is Taking Place?
Beginning Wednesday November 22, a large overhead Gantry Crane will be delivered to Avenue Station and installed at the Secondary Entrance site.
Several truckloads of large steel columns that the overhead crane will sit on will be delivered to the site. Due to the size of these deliveries, trucks will be backed-in to the existing construction zone east of Avenue Road through the west gate. Short traffic interruptions can be expected while these deliveries take place. Read more »

Construction activities outside the long-term set up continues to be active as we prepare for upcoming mining operations. These activities are happening during the daytime and nighttime, and overlap. Residents and businesses can expect to see the following daytime and nighttime work at various locations in the roadway or on the sidewalk.

Construction Activities at Avenue Road and Eglinton
As we gear up to begin mining operations at the Secondary Entrance in November, there are many other parcels of preparatory work to complete. Construction outside of the long-term set up is very active and will be for the rest of the year.
Residents and businesses can expect to see many works happening at various locations in the roadway or on the sidewalk, often at the same time.

SEWER LINING AT AVENUE STATION
The entire sewer lining process will take approximately 4 – 6 weeks to complete.
Sewer bypass work takes place in the daytime construction hours.

Mining is expected to begin in November 2017, and will carry on through to late 2019.
What Work is Happening?
The Eglinton Crosstown includes a 10-kilometre underground portion, between Weston Road and Laird Drive, where 15 below-grade stations are under construction. Eleven will be built using a “cut-and cover” method and four, including Avenue Station, are going to be “mined.”

What Work is Taking Place?
The term “dewatering” means pumping water from the ground at a site where there will be excavation and is essential before and during upcoming mining operations at Avenue Station. The dewatering system is installed in two phases, drilling of the wells and then digging shallow trenches to connect the wells and lay the pipes, pumps, and valves for the system. Read more »
