Crews will complete works to connect water and sewer services at the main and secondary entrances and designated park area for Avenue Station. Crews are also performing hydro utility works in the designated park area to complete a temporary power connection. For the safety of the public and workers, temporary pedestrian and traffic changes will be in effect to accommodate this work. Work will occur in stages to minimize traffic disruptions. Read more »
On April 3, 2017, crews will begin subsurface utility engineering (SUE) investigation of a large 900mm watermain in the Eglinton Avenue West and Chaplin Crescent area. The watermain will be exposed to determine the utility and ground conditions in advance of wet utilities relocation. Most of the work will take place within the existing traffic staging at Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West. Read more »
The construction liaison committee meeting of Chaplin and Avenue Stations was held on March 28, 2017. You can see the presentation here:
Based on consultations with local residents and businesses as well as elected officials, the following amended staging plan has been prepared and will be implemented as soon as March 13, 2017.
The pedestrian walkway in front of the Secondary Entrance construction area will be closed. There will be no continuous travel on the north side of Eglinton Ave between Lascelles Blvd and Avenue Road. To access businesses on the east side of the secondary entrance, please use the crossing at Oriole Parkway. Read more »
In late 2016, a portion of the western frontage of Eglinton Park was fenced off to accommodate construction staging. Through consultations with the public and local elected officials, a reduced portion of the Eglinton Park was approved for temporary use during the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown. Read more »
