Additional Dewatering Wells for the Avenue Station Main Entrance

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

The term “dewatering” means pumping water from the ground at a site where there will be excavation. At Eglinton Avenue West and Avenue Road, small wells have been drilled around the entire station box where the underground mining excavation will be taking place. The dewatering system is installed in two phases, drilling of the wells and then digging shallow trenches to connect the wells and lay the pipes, pumps, and valves for the system. The volume of soil that requires dewatering is significant.  Read more »

REISSUE: LOW WATER PRESSURE NOTICE: Watermain Connection Work for Science Centre Station

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews are working to replace an existing watermain north of Eglinton Avenue East within the existing work zone at the northeast corner of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East. This work supports the upgrade of existing water infrastructure around the future Science Centre Station. Read more »

Lane Impacts Leaside Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Work requiring the temporary closure of the southbound lane, just south of Eglinton Avenue East will occur over the next week. Southbound traffic will be maintained by removing the northbound dedicated left turn lane.

Upcoming Works: Demolition at 795 Warden Avenue

What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning as early as April 11, 2018, the property at 795 Warden Avenue will be demolished to make way for the construction of one of the Traction Power Substations (TPSS) that will power the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT).  The work will take place within a protected work zone. Both traffic and pedestrian pathways will not be affected by this work. Read more »

Overnight Utility Relocation on Transway Crescent and Kennedy Road in Support of Construction of the Future Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future Kennedy Station, crews will be relocating watermain and sanitary utilities on Transway Crescent, including a partial crossing of Kennedy Road, starting as soon as April 9, 2018. To reduce impacts to the community and commuters this work will be performed overnight and will take approximately two weeks to complete.  The work is part of the larger upgrade and relocation of utilities for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. Pedestrian Route Changes Leaside Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Over the next month, crews will complete right of way works including restoration of curbs and sidewalks on the south side of Eglinton Avenue both east and west of Bayview Avenue. This will result in some periodic changes to pedestrian circulation. Please watch for orange and black signage that directs pedestrians.

These works are required to support the completion of decking and restoration of the work zone to allow crews to shift to working on the north side of Eglinton Avenue in May 2018.
