A large drill rig will be moved from the secondary entrance on the northeast corner to the south side of Eglinton Avenue East at Ferrand Drive. The drill rig is required in preparation for piling work in support of the future Science Centre Station.

Support of Excavation Works (Shoring) within Bus Terminal and Secondary Entrance Site for Science Centre Station

What Work is Taking Place?

Starting as early as mid-December 2016, crews will start support of excavation work, also known as shoring, for the future Science Centre Station. The station is located at the intersection of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East, with the main station entrance on the southwest corner and the secondary entrance located on the northeast corner. Steel piles, as well as braces and tie-backs will be installed around the perimeter of the station box, entrances and bus terminal to support excavation.  Read more »

Overnight CCTV Investigations along Eglinton Avenue East

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be conducting CCTV investigations of the storm and sanitary sewer lines along Eglinton Avenue East. Crews will access all manholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East between Midland Avenue and Laird Drive, along Transway Crescent at Kennedy Station and from approximately 50-100 meters north at all intersections to determine the condition of existing storm and sanitary lines.

Crews will be grading and paving on Eglinton Ave East along Ferrand Drive to prepare for the future construction of Science Centre Station. To complete the work, access to Ferrand Drive from Eglinton Avenue East will be closed.

Update: Hydro Utility Relocations for Science Centre Station: Pedestrian Crosswalk Closure and TTC Bus Detour

What Work is Taking Place?

In mid-November crews began to set-up work zones within the roadway at both the northwest and southwest corners of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East as crews continue to relocate existing utilities at the intersection. Work began on relocating hydro utilities and work continues on relocating telecommunication lines within man holes as well within pre-existing duct banks in preparation for station construction.  Read more »

UPDATED: Overnight Line Painting for Science Centre Station Starts Friday, November 11, 2016

UPDATED
Overnight lane reductions on Don Mills Road and on Eglinton Avenue East will be required begining on Friday, November 11 for approximatley 3 nights as crews remove existing line markings on the roadway then repaint in preparation for station construction at the future Science Centre Station.
