Overnight CCTV Investigations along Eglinton Avenue East

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be conducting CCTV investigations of the storm and sanitary sewer lines along Eglinton Avenue East. Crews will access all manholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East between Midland Avenue and Laird Drive, along Transway Crescent at Kennedy Station and from approximately 50-100 meters north at all intersections to determine the condition of existing storm and sanitary lines.

  • Utility investigation work onsite within TTC land at Kennedy Station along the Eglinton Service Road continues to determine the location and depth of existing utilities.

  • Crews will  hydro-vacuum test pits over top of existing utilities within the TTC boulevard west of the SRT tracks.

Update: Geotechnical Works continue at Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

  • In February 2016, crews began conducting geotechnical works along Eglinton Avenue East to make way for the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT.
  • Pending TTC approval and City of Toronto permits, crews will drill boreholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East in the vicinity of Kennedy Station, from Rosemount Drive to West of Midland Avenue to determine the condition of existing asphalt soil and rocks.

Enbridge Gas Distribution Line Relocation near Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place? 

  • To accommodate the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Enbridge Gas Distribution (Enbridge) is required to relocate a gas line on Eglinton Avenue East between Ionview Road and Kennedy Road. These pipelines are integral to Enbridge’s gas system and must be re-routed to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in the Greater Toronto Area.

Pedestrian Safety near Construction Sites

Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line, including 15 underground stations, is underway. Since the end of school, many construction sites have been set up for station construction and the set-up of some major intersections along Eglinton Avenue has been changed.
