The light rail vehicle mock up tour is on the move and is making a stop at Gage Park in Brampton from Wednesday, May 15th to Wednesday, May 22nd. Manufactured by Bombardier, the vehicle will be used in the four new light rail transit (LRT) lines that Metrolinx is building across Toronto.
The LRV mock-up represents a portion of the actual vehicle. Visitors will get a chance to check out this fast, reliable and comfortable vehicle, learn more about upcoming transit projects in Ontario. Read more »
On Saturday May 4th, Crosstown Community Liaison staff participated in a Jane's Walk in Mount Dennis. Eighty people from across the city came took part in a tour of the upcoming infrastructure changes to the neighbourhood led by the Mount Dennis Community Association and the Mount Dennis Weston Network. TORONTO, November 28, 2012 - Metrolinx has signed agreements with the TTC and the City of Toronto to improve public transit and ease congestion in Toronto.
Under one agreement, the TTC will implement PRESTO fare card technology in all subway stations, buses and streetcars by 2016. This will allow commuters to travel seamlessly and more conveniently within the TTC and across eight municipal transit systems equipped with PRESTO in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The City of Toronto Planning Division is hosting internationally-renowned architect and urban designer Antoine Grumbach as part of the Eglinton Planning Study. Grumbach will be giving a public lecture to help Toronto understand how Eglinton can redevelop and reinvent itself for the 21st Century with the LRT. By the end of 2012, four 10.5-metre, 500-tonne TBMs will be delivered in Toronto. These TBMs will dig the tunnel underneath Eglinton Avenue for The Crosstown Light Rail Transit line.
