What Work is Taking Place?
TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closed between Finch and St. Clair stations on Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25, 2021, while crews perform TTC platform relocation and associated track level works. Work will take place on a 24-hour basis on Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25, 2021. Berwick Avenue will remain open while this work takes place.

As early as Friday April 9, 2021, crews at Eglinton Station will resume pre-cast panel installations at the Berwick Portal site. To facilitate this work, use of a mobile crane will be required at the Berwick Portal until approximately Friday, April 16, 2021.
As early as Monday, March 22, 2021 crews at Eglinton Station will install a crane within the Salvation Army site at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Cowbell Lane. The crane will be used to facilitate construction of the Eglinton Station Box and East Tunnel Ventilation Shaft. Construction activities include rebar, steel, and formwork installations.
Excavation works beneath TTC’s Eglinton Station Box are complete. Through Spring 2021, crews at Eglinton Station will continue to work extended construction hours to perform final grading and structural works below ground. This work includes backfilling, compacting soil, and installing structural steel, rebar and formwork to reinforce the station’s concrete walls and slabs.
From March 11 – March 19, 2021, crews will install concrete pre-cast panels at the Berwick Portal site. To facilitate this work, a crane will be placed at the site on Berwick Avenue.
On Saturday March 6, 2021, Berwick Avenue will be closed at Yonge Street while a concrete pour takes place at the Berwick Portal site. The concrete will form the part of the portal roof. This work will coincide with a closure of TTC’s Line 1 Subway between Finch and St. Clair Stations on March 6 and 7 2021. The Hillsdale Avenue Bridge north sidewalk and lane, located between Duplex Avenue and Yonge Street, will remain open while this work takes place. Read more »
