What:
A cross passage is a tunnel cut between two other parallel tunnels required for maintenance or emergency purposes.
Stage 2: Cross Passage Construction near Locksley Ave. and Alameda Ave. Stage 2 work involves the placing of a generator and a dewatering treatment tank occupying a short curb lane restriction for approximately 6 months.
Where:
While the majority of work will occur underground, dewatering operations will be visible on the surface. The highlighted area on the map below shows the approximate locations of the cross passages along Eglinton Avenue.
When:
Work will begin as early as the 1st week of May and last approximately 6 months. Please timelines may be rescheduled or adjusted due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Details:
Traffic delays can be expected during the duration of this work. Please take care when travelling near construction areas.
Transit Information
For the safety of transit riders, both eastbound and westbound TTC bus stops in the affected area will be relocated. Watch for posted signs and future information indicating the new locations.
Work Hours
Please Note that dewatering pumps and or generators are required to be active 24 hours a day.
