Overnight Emergency Road Work : Eglinton Avenue East Lane Closure between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street Sunday, March 6 at 7:00 a.m. to Monday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m.

What:  Crews will be conducting roadway surface reconstruction on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street. During this work, Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane only for both directions of traffic. Paid Duty Police Officers (PDOs) and/or flagmen will be employed to control traffic at each end of the work site.

Why:  At the request of the City of Toronto, Metrolinx will be repairing the Eglinton Avenue East roadway surface between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Avenue. This repair work is required to fix a pothole affecting Eglinton Avenue East, eastbound traffic.

When:  The work will start on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. and continue through rush-hour on Monday, March 7, 2016 until approximately 10:00 a.m. Some work may be rescheduled or adjusted due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. 

Where:  A work zone will be set-up on the eastbound Eglinton Avenue East traffic lane, between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street - next to the east Eglinton Crosstown launch site.

Traffic Details:

The eastbound Eglinton Avenue East lane will be closed from Brentcliffe Road to Leslie Street.

Traffic will alternate between one direction (eastbound/westbound) at a time, and will use the westbound Eglinton lane during this work.

PDOs and/or flagmen will be employed to control traffic at each end of the work site. There will be delays associated with this work as you travel through the area.

If you would normally use this section of Eglinton Avenue East at these times, please plan an alternate route.  Further details will be provided on the electronic message boards next to Eglinton Avenue East closer to the date/times of this construction. 

Transit Information:

Buses will continue to run along Eglinton Avenue East in this section. They will be required to use the same single lane as vehicles.

Work Hours

The hours of work as permitted are between Sunday at 7:00 a.m. to Monday at 10:00 a.m. This includes overnight work from Sunday to Monday. Timelines may be adjusted due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
