What Work is Taking Place?

A section of the existing watermain will be replaced on Eglinton Avenue East just east of Don Mills Road.


Pending a City of Toronto permit, work is expected to begin as early as August 26, 2016, and will continue for approximately up to two weeks. Work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

Crews will be working in the middle lanes on Eglinton Avenue East, from Don Mills Road to Gervais Drive. To minimize traffic disruption, crews will continue to work over the weekend and some overnight work may be required.

Traffic Details

  • Traffic will be reduced to a minimum of one lane in each direction and shifted to the eastbound and westbound curb lanes on Eglinton Avenue East from west of Don Mills Road to east of Gervais Drive.
  • Paid-Duty Police Officers will be present during some of this work.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

Pedestrian Details

 Pedestrian and property access will be maintained.

Transit Users

 Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
