Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Investigations at Cedarvale Station

October 11, 2016

What Work is Taking Place?

  • To prepare for future construction of Cedarvale Station, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations along the shoulder of Allen Road North and South, north of Eglinton Avenue West.
  • Crews will drill bore holes and use a hydro-vacuum truck on the shoulder of the road to determine the location of the underground utilities and the ground conditions around the intersection for design purposes.

  • Work is expected to begin the evening of October 12th and will take approximately two nights to complete.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • While this work is underway, nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear some noise related to the use to a saw cutter, hydro-vacuum truck, drill, and other construction equipment.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
