Shoring and Excavation Work Continues for Laird Station: Long Term Sidewalk Closure

May 9, 2017

Since June 2016, shoring and excavation work has been underway within the main and secondary entrance sites for the future Laird Station. As soon as May 15, 2017 the second part of the long-term road occupancy and sidewalk closure on Eglinton Avenue East between Laird Drive and Don Avon Drive will begin and remain for the duration of the work into 2020. In March 2017, the long-term sidewalk closure on the west side of Laird Drive from Eglinton Avenue East to Parklea Drive along with the closure of the west/east crosswalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East was implemented.

What to Expect and Hours of Work

  • Residents near the work site can expect to hear trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment.
