CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Intersection Closures at Chaplin Station for Wet Utilities Relocation

What Work is Taking Place? 

Crews will conduct a closure of the intersection at Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West for approximately three (3) weeks starting Monday July 23, 2018, in order to complete deep wet utilities relocation work in the middle of the intersection.  Through access on Chaplin Crescent will be closed.  Through access on Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained. This work will be completed in three stages (pictured below) at approximately one week per stage.

Work will be conducted during permitted construction hours, 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.  This is an alternative to the overnight weekend schedule earlier this month. Access for TTC and emergency vehicles only will be maintained.

What to Expect

  • No through access to Chaplin Crescent at Eglinton Avenue West
  • Work will be completed in three (3) phases with east-west access on Eglinton Ave maintained
  • Vehicles traveling southbound on Chaplin Cres, north of Eglinton Ave will not have access to Eglinton Ave
  • Vehicles traveling northbound on Chaplin Cres, south of Eglinton Ave must turn onto Eglinton Ave
  • Access for emergency services vehicles, TTC and local access will be maintained
  • Road users can expect delays when traveling through the intersection
