Watermain Upgrade at Victoria Park and Eglinton Avenue East Intersection

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be upgrading the existing watermains at Victoria Park Ave crossing the Eglinton LRT guideway. This work requires digging a trench to access and upgrade the existing watermain as well as installing new control valves.

TIMING

  • The work will begin as soon as January 10th and take approximately five (5) days.
  • Preparatory works will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m on Thursday and Friday.
  • Watermain crossing work will occur between 6:00 a.m and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

WHAT TO EXPECT AND TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • One lane eastbound and one lane westbound will be maintained on Eglinton Avenue East during the working hours.
  • One lane southbound and one lane northbound on Victoria Park Avenue will be maintained during working hours.
  • Outside of working hours, exposed areas will be covered with metal plates.
  • Pedestrian routes will remain open during this work.
