What Work is Taking Place?

Crews have been completing overnight wet utility and hydro utility installation work at Forest Hill Station since September 2018; this work will continue through until mid-February 2019. 95% of all utilities relocation and installation work at Forest Hill Station have been completed.

Resuming January 24, 2019, overnight water main chamber construction will commence on Eglinton Avenue, east of Bathurst Street. Traffic in the vicinity of the work area will be reduced to one (1) lane only, alternating in each direction. 

While crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as best as possible, some noise can be expected.  Please contact the West Crosstown Community Office if noise mitigation is required.

Hours of Work 

  • Resuming January 24, 2019 until mid-February 2019
  • 9:00 p.m. (overnight) until 7:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday
  • Crews may not work every day during this period
  • Work may be delayed or extended due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather

What to Expect

  • Traffic on Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one lane only, alternating in each direction
  • Trucks will access the laydown area via Peveril Hill N
  • Noise from construction activity and site lighting can be expected
  • Traffic will be controlled by a Paid Duty Officer and/or traffic control personnel
  • Delays can be expected when travelling through the intersection
