Watermain Work – Avenue Station

January 24, 2019

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

The installation of two additional valves is required on the local watermain near Eglinton Avenue West and Oriole Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West and Eastbourne Ave. A water shut off will be required to finalize the works and if your property is impacted by the water shut off you will receive a separate notice.

TIMING

  • The work will begin as soon as Tuesday January 29 and take approximately two (2) weeks to complete.
  • Work will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • Valve installations will occur during two overnight periods between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. to reduce the impacts of the associated water shut off. Additional notice will be shared for these works.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Timelines are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
  • During working hours the areas of work will be delineated by pylons and temporary fencing.
  • The road will plated and reinstated at the end of each shift.
  • Noise can be expected from the use of a pavement saw cutter, a hydrovacuum truck, and other construction equipment.

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Pedestrians should expect pylons on the sidewalk to guide them around the construction zone.
  • Lane reductions will be in place on Eglinton Avenue, between Oriole Parkway and Lascelles Blvd to accommodate the construction zone.
