RAMP CONSTRUCTION, WEST OF LESLIE STREET MULTI-USE PATH CONNECTING EGLINTON AVE E TO SERENA GUNDY PARK

What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will be constructing a new multi-use path connecting Eglinton Avenue East to Serena Gundy Park. The ramp will connect the north side of Eglinton Ave East to the existing path adjacent to the West Don River. The removal of three (3) trees is required prior to construction. All removals have been approved by the City of Toronto and the Toronto Region Conservation Authority. Upon the completion of the ECLRT, new trees will be planted along the Crosstown alignment as part of final landscaping and restoration works.  Work is expected to begin as early as July 27, 2020 and continue through to late 2020.

Hours of Work
• Tree removal is expected to take place the week of July 27, 2020.
• Construction of the ramp is expected to begin as early as July 27, 2020 and continue through to late 2020.
• This work is permitted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect
• Crews will be removing three (3) trees near the West Don River Bridge prior to the construction of the new path.
• Construction activities for path construction include:
o Excavation
o Backfill
o Installation of topsoil
• Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected.
• Landscaping will take place in 2021 as part of the final restoration plan.

Traffic, Pedestrian and TTC Details
• The construction of the ramp will not impact the existing construction
• There will be no impacts to existing TTC stops.

Travelling Smart during Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
