Lane Reductions at Laird Station for Fiber Hand Well Installations
What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Monday, November 1, 2021, and lasting through Thursday, November 11, 2021, crews will begin fiber hand well installations on Laird Drive between the Main and Secondary Entrances. To accommodate this work, lane reductions on Laird Drive will be in place south of Eglinton Avenue East in three phases moving from west to east.
What to Expect
Phase One will last from Monday, November 1, 2021, through approximately Wednesday, November 3, and includes fiber hand well installations in the southbound lanes on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East. Phase Two will last approximately three days and take place on Thursday, November 4, 2021, and include fiber hand well installations in the left and centre northbound lanes on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East. Phase Three will last approximately three days and take place on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, and include fiber hand well installations in the centre and right northbound lanes on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East. During each phase two lanes of southbound traffic on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East will be maintained and northbound traffic on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to a single lane. Phases Two and Three will require the northbound bus stop located on the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive to be relocated to the northwest corner of the intersection.
Expect delays while travelling through the area. Noise from construction activities can be expected. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place.
