Overnight OCS Cable Installations on Eglinton Avenue East between Laird and Kennedy Station
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will be installing OCS (Overhead Catenary System) cables along Eglinton Avenue East between Laird and Kennedy Station. Overhead catenary is the system installed overtop of the rails of a light rail system, to provide operational power to the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles). Installation will take place on from Monday, November 29 – Thursday, December 2, 2021, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Crews will operate above the track. No significant traffic impacts are expected, while this work takes place.
What to Expect
Cable will be installed overhead using a high rail vehicle. Minimal noise is expected while this work takes place. Site lighting will be required.
