Sidewalk Restoration Works at Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive (July 28, 2022)

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as, Thursday, July 28, 2022, crews at Laird Station will be continuing sidewalk restoration works on the northwest and southeast corners of Eglinton Avenue West and Laird Drive. To facilitate this work, the sidewalk on the northwest and southeast corners of Eglinton Avenue West and Laird Drive will be temporarily closed. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone on the northwest corner. Pedestrians will be rerouted around 815 Eglinton Avenue East (Pire 1 Imports) on the southeast corner. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. This works is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for approximately one (1) week.

What to Expect

Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and pouring, can be expected. Access to all properties will be maintained. Expect delays while travelling through the area. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.  

HOURS OF WORK

• As early as Thursday, July 28, 2022, for approximately two (1) week.
• This work is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
• This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• No changes to the current traffic configuration as a result of this work.
• One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• The sidewalk on the northwest and southeast corners of Eglinton Avenue West and Laird Drive will be temporarily closed.
• Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone on the northwest corner.
• Pedestrians will be rerouted around the 815 Eglinton Avenue East (Pier 1 Imports) on the southeast corner.
