What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Tuesday, September 6, 2022, a new traffic configuration will be implemented on Eglinton Avenue West between Lascelles Boulevard and Duplex Avenue. Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will shift to the north side of the road and construction will move to the south. This configuration will remain in place for approximately two (2) months. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on Eglinton Avenue West.
The new Eglinton Connects streetscape and cycle track will be implemented continuously between Avenue Road and Holly Street. Crews will work Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. with overnight work as required. As part of this work, the existing roadway, sidewalk, and any street furniture and trees will be removed. For more information on the City of Toronto’s Eglinton Connects Streetscape and Cycle Track Design, visit www.toronto.ca/eglinton.
Occasionally, use of a hydro-vacuum truck, jackhammer and/or compaction roller will be required. Significant traffic and pedestrian changes will be in effect. Please review the complete notice or visit http://www.thecrosstown.ca/ for more information.
What to Expect
Utility work, road and sidewalk restoration, and landscaping will take place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West. Noise from construction activity, including trucks, breaking of concrete and asphalt, utility work, and use of heavy equipment can be expected. Construction vehicles and trucks will stage within work zones and traffic tapers. Traffic barrels, fencing, and signage will be in place to delineate work zones. Access to businesses, properties, and TTC will be maintained. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.
