Experience Eglinton Poster Design Contest

November 21, 2013

Upper Village BIA Logo

Calling local residents, graphic artists and copywriters who have a flair for design, a passion for the written word and a soft spot for Eglinton! Together with the Upper Village Business Improvement Area (BIA) and Metrolinx, we are launching a contest in support of businesses on Eglinton and are in search of a unique and creative poster design. Your design must encourage Ward 21 residents to double their efforts to shop locally during the Crosstown construction that is taking place along the Eglinton corridor.

The contest deadline is Friday, January 24th at 5:00pm. Approximately 1000 signs will be produced and displayed along the stores on Eglinton and in the neighbourhood. A panel of judges will select the winning design and notify the winner by February 14th, 2014. The contest winner will receive $500 cash from the BIA.

Poster designs and submissions must follow this guideline:

  • designed in 4-colours
  • include a catchy slogan (do not include the slogans "Shop Locally", "Shop Local" nor "Experience Eglinton")
  • submitted in digital format – jpeg (2.5MB minimum) or in hard copy
  • include your name, brief biography (250 words), rationale for your design (250 words), daytime telephone number and an email address (in both the digital and soft copy versions of your design)

Submissions may be dropped off (between the hours of 9.30am-3.00pm) or mailed to:
