Median Restorations on Eglinton Avenue at Keele Street

April 14, 2014

The Eglinton Crosstown is a transit project that will provide rapid and reliable service across Eglinton Avenue including an underground central section and will be up to 60% faster than bus service today.

What:  Crews will be reinstalling medians on Eglinton Avenue West at the intersection of Keele St and Trethewey Dr. Traffic signal poles and associated lights will also be reinstated. Once the medians are reinstated line painting will re-establish existing lanes.

Where:  Crews will be reinstating traffic medians east and westbound on Eglinton Avenue at the intersection of Keele St and Trethewey Dr.

When:  Starting as early as mid-April and extending to approximately mid-May, crews will be working within the roadway.

No left turns Eglinton and Keele

Traffic and Pedestrian Details:

As a result of the reinstatement of medians on Eglinton Avenue West at the intersection of Keele St and Trethewey Dr, Eglinton will be reduced to one lane in each direction approaching the intersection. Traffic will be diverted around centre lane closures in order to perform the work.

Left hand turns will be prohibited at the intersection when travelling east or westbound during this time. Watch for posted signs notifying motorists of the prohibited left turns from Eglinton Avenue West on to Keele St and Trethewey Dr.

Work Hours:
The hours of work as permitted are between 7am and 11pm, 7 days a week. Overnight work may be required. Underground tunnelling and associated work may continue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Timelines may be adjusted due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
