What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Tuesday, May 24, 2022, crews at Fairbank Station will be performing sidewalk restoration works on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, between Shortt Street and Dufferin Street. The sidewalk between Shortt Street and Dufferin Street will be removed and reconstructed. To facilitate this work, temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in effect between Shortt Street and Dufferin Street. Access to the front entrance of 1840 Eglinton Avenue West (Shoppers Drug Mart) will be restricted for the first three (3) days of work. Pedestrians will be directed to use the back entrance of 1840 Eglinton Avenue West (Shoppers Drug Mart), located in the Green P, at this time. Ramps will be temporarily installed at all other building entrances between Shortt Street and Dufferin Street to maintain accessible business and property access. This work is expected to take place for two (2) weeks between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
What to Expect
Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and trucks, can be expected. Affected properties have been notified directly. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.
HOURS OF WORK
- As early as Tuesday, May 24, 2022, for approximately two (2) weeks.
- This work will take place between 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
- This work may be longer or shorter than expected.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- No changes to the current traffic configuration as a result of this work.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- Pedestrians will be temporarily rerouted around areas where sidewalk construction is taking place.
- Access to the front entrance of 1840 Eglinton Avenue West (Shoppers Drug Mart) will be restricted for the first three (3) days of work. Pedestrians will be directed to use the back entrance of 1840 Eglinton Avenue West (Shoppers Drug Mart), located in the Green P, at this time.
