What Work is Taking Place?
In October 2019, underpinning activities began inside of TTC’s Eglinton West Subway Station. Underpinning is the process of reinforcing an existing structure during construction. Underpinning is required to safely construct Cedarvale Station. This work involves the installation of micropiles inside of Eglinton West Station to support the station structure. Starting March 5, 2020, crews will begin working extended hours inside of Eglinton West Station for approximate three (3) weeks.
Hours of Work
- Underpinning activities in Eglinton West Station will take place Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m., and Saturdays 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., for approximately one (1) month

What to Expect
- Noise from construction activities can be expected
- Hoarding may be erected around construction areas, resulting in reduced space within the terminal
- Access to the TTC Eglinton West Subway Station will be maintained at all times
- The station’s east pedestrian entrance will remain closed
